Physical Medicine

Physical Medicine

Physical Medicine is the branch of medicine that deals with the treatment, prevention, and diagnosis of disease by essentially physical means, including manipulation, massage, and exercise, often with mechanical devices, and the application of heat, cold, electricity, radiation, and water. – Stedman’s Medical Dictionary

Physical Medicine is often used to address complaints such as

  • Low back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Sports and Work related Injuries
  • Headaches
  • Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

Manipulation is the adjustment of bones and joints that many people typically associate with chiropractors.

Massage, trigger point, and other soft tissue techniques may also be used in the course of your treatment to facilitate is the resolution of muscle pain, stiffness, and other issues.

Hot and cold water are the main tools of hydrotherapy. They can improve circulation and healing by aiding in the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the body tissues and eliminating toxins and byproducts that can accumulate.
